que suerte

Today was one of those days that should be remembered. Having just finished a personal statement for an application describing myself as a person who is an expert at being close to severe personal injury =, but somehow emerging unscaled, I got hit by a car (for the first - and probably not the last time) here in Guayaquil this afternoon on my way to el stadio modelo. The power was out. Appearently the power will be out here in Urdesa at least, every day between 8-11 and 230- 6 , 9 hours each day, until they resolve the problem here with power shortages. So I knew I was cutting it close, and and bet the car wasn't going to move, but it did. My rear hub took a direct hit from the front bumper of the car and the bike shot out from under me. I somehow landed on my ass and then my feet and the bike and I both luckily came away unscathed. Que suerte!!! After having my life flash before my eyes, Iwas informed that the car had stopped to wait - an unexpected surprise. The driver turned out to be a consciencious mother of one of my co-workers at Colegio Americano- after muy disculpes we parted ways, muy amable
